Men’s Division 3 Pennant Win Region Flag

Regional Flag Victory

Congratulations to our Men’s Division 3 Pennant side on winning the Region Flag! Yesterday the team travelled to Kempsey with high hopes of bringing home another flag for Club North Haven this year, and they delivered in spectacular fashion.

The path to victory required two crucial wins. First, the side faced Comboyne in the section final, securing a solid 75-47 victory in what proved to be a tough battle. With that win under their belt, they moved forward to face a strong Kempsey Macleay RSL team on their home turf in the regional final.

Dramatic Final Comeback

The final match was nothing short of extraordinary. At one point during the game, the North Haven side trailed by 30 shots on the big board – a significant deficit that would have broken many teams. However, our men showed incredible determination and resilience, rallying together to slowly chip away at the margin.

As the match progressed, the tension mounted. Heading into the last end, both teams were locked at 55 all. In a moment of pure skill and composure, Jerry Janik drew two crucial bowls. When the dust settled, it was one of Jerry’s bowls that stayed in for the winning shot, securing the regional flag for Club North Haven.

State Finals at Home

This massive achievement by the entire team has earned them the opportunity to compete in the State Finals, which will be held right here at North Haven/Lake Cathie in August. Playing on home turf will be a fantastic advantage, and we can’t wait to support our Men’s Division 3 side as they represent Club North Haven at the state level.

Well done to all the players on this outstanding accomplishment. Your determination, skill, and teamwork have made the entire club proud.
